A woman was killed while crossing the street Saturday night in the Wrigley neighborhood.
Police said the crash happened at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday on West Pacific Coast Highway at Cedar Avenue. Police said a 2013 Ford Fusion was going eastbound on PCH in the No. 1 lane when it struck the woman, who was walking southbound in the marked crosswalk.
Paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
“At this time, speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision,” the LBPD said.
Police have not released the woman’s name publicly as they work to notify her family.
