A woman died at a Lakewood hospital Saturday night from injuries she sustained when she was shot in North Long Beach, police said.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Keshawn Castilow of Anaheim.

Castilow, who was struck in her upper body, was taken to the hospital by female and male witnesses who could not provide details of where the incident happened, according to a press release from the Long Beach Police Department.

She was possibly shot near Paramount Boulevard and South Street, authorities said, but police found no evidence of a shooting when they searched the area.

Officers were sent to the area hospital at about 11:50 p.m. to help Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department personnel with the investigation, officials said.
