Long Beach police say they are investigating a shooting Monday night that left a woman injured, although it’s not clear if she was wounded by a bullet.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the shooting took place around 10:54 p.m. in the 3300 block of 67th Street, just north of Artesia Boulevard.

The woman was outside when she heard a loud noise and then realized a man was shooting in her direction, authorities said, adding that she fled the scene and called police.

When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from injuries to her upper body, according to police, but, it’s unclear at this time whether she was shot or if her injuries were the result of broken glass, LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital for her injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.

No arrests have been made in the shooting. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, according to the LBPD, who said officers at the scene located bullet casings and strike marks from gunfire.

At this time, the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, according to police.
