Police say a driver fatally struck a pedestrian this morning in the Cambodia Town neighborhood.
The crash happened shortly before 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of East Anaheim Street and Rose Avenue, according to Long Beach police.
Police said a 2022 Honda Accord was heading westbound on Anaheim when it struck a woman who was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk, police said.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Speed, impaired driving and distracted driving did not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
