A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the California Heights neighborhood last night, authorities said today.
The crash happened around 9:05 p.m. Friday at Atlantic Avenue and 36th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The vehicle was going south on Atlantic when it struck the woman, who was crossing the same street, police said. She died at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
“Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision,” police said in a statement.
