11:03am | The Dana Neighborhood Library, located at 3680 Atlantic Ave, is joining the growing artistic community of ArtCard Los Angeles, a community-based, non-profit art project developed by LA-Artist.com director, Oliver Shipley, to democratize and showcase the diverse artistic talent in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

ArtCards are blank, pre-addressed postcards distributed around LA County by a group of volunteers.  People then use the ArtCards as canvases for their own artistic works.  Mailed cards are exhibited at LA-Artist.com. Shipley says, “there are no guidelines and every ArtCard is published and exhibited.”

A selection of ArtCards will be on display at the Dana Neighborhood Library October 26, 2011 – November 26, 2011.

In conjunction with the exhibit, on Saturday, November 19, between 10:00am and 4:00pm, blank ArtCards and a selection of art supplies will be available at the Dana Library for the public to create their own ArtCard to send in.
