Body found floating near fishing pier in Long Beach harbor

A body was found in the Long Beach harbor early Thursday by a boat captain and his deckhand, though few details were immediately available as police investigate.

Police, along with the Coast Guard, got the call just after 11 a.m. and responded to the scene at 1600 Harbor Scenic Drive, near the Pier J fishing location.

Authorities have yet to identify the body, but said it was a male.

Police said they do not suspect foul play.
