Local Democratic leaders gathered last weekend to discuss ideas and enjoy a day in the sun at the 78th Annual Women’s Democratic Study Club picnic held at Wardlow Park. The organization is the oldest chartered Democratic Club in the nation.
A memorial park bench was dedicated on honor of former club president Joy Dowell, a long-time activist who passed away in 2007.
