12:30pm | Long Beach’s Ninth District is pulling out all the stops this weekend, when it will showcase on Saturday some of the many resources and amenities that North Long Beach has to offer.

The Discover North Long Beach Showcase, sponsored by Ninth District Councilman Steven Neal, will be held at the Long Beach Logistics Center, 100 W. Victoria St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entire community is invited to attend and check out the various exhibits and participate in an array of family-friendly activities.

Exhibitors will include the North Long Beach Initiative, Primestor Development Inc., the Historical Society of Long Beach, Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum, Rancho Los Cerritos, the Bicycle Master Plan, the up-and-coming North Village Library, Long Beach Fire Department’s Fire Station No. 12, Fresh & Easy, various Ninth District neighborhood associations, Blue Sand Design, Long Beach Time Exchange and the city departments of Health and Human Services and Parks, Recreation and Marine, among others.

Additionally, there will be a bike rodeo and a mobile park.

Shuttle service to the event, with pickups set for every hour on the hour between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., is being offered from four separate locations, including:

  • Fire Station No. 12 on the corner of Orange Avenue and Artesia Boulevard;
  • The North Village site on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and South Street;
  • Andy Street near Light & Life Church on Downey Avenue; and
  • Paramount Petroleum on the corner of Paramount Boulevard and Artesia.
