A press release from the Long Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) today indicates that owners plan to renovate the Vault 350 – a popular nightclub known for its live acts that closed last year – and reopen it in early 2010. Medina Investments & Development (MID) and X1FM Network Radio plan to begin a “multi-million dollar renovation” and return the Pine Avenue venue to its original form.
“The Vault 350 has been missed since it stopped operating last year,” Steve Goodling, President and CEO of the CVB, said in a statement today. “Its return will be a tremendous asset to downtown Long Beach, activating the stretch from the waterfront to the original dining area on Pine Avenue. It will allow residents and visitors to rediscover the on-going changes in our community.”
From the release:
Located in the Entertainment District on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach, the return of The Vault 350 will quicken the cultural pulse of the community. From classic to punk rockers… from discerning jazz aficionados to R&B, hip-hop, country-western, folk or Latin music lovers… from college students clubbing with the hottest DJs, to comedy jams and poetry slams… The NEW Vault 350 will offer something for everyone, including special event directors, corporate tradeshow producers and movie location scouts looking for a mid-sized venue with big-time technical capabilities.
The Vault 350 originally opened in 2004 but closed its doors last July shortly after the unexpected death of founder and operator Mitchell Stewart.
