4:00pm | Long Beach Police are learning new information about a suspect in two separate shootings that they believe are linked, and have released a photo and description of a male Hispanic that they believe drove the vehicle involved in both shootings in hopes that he can be identified.

An elderly female and two adult males were injured in the first shooting, which occurred at a family barbeque near the 2200 block of Pine Avenue on January 17 of this year.

No one was injured in the second shooting, when a group of black males was apparently chasing a group of Hispanic males near 11th & Myrtle.  The vehicle in question, a boxy white SUV, pulled up alongside the Hispanics and handed one of them a gun. He turned and fired at the pursuers but there were no injuries and everyone involved left the scene before officers arrived.

The driver is described as a chubby male Hispanic, about 30 years old. The license plate of the vehicle may contain “6K,” according to authorities.

The suspected shooter is described as a male Hispanic between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 with a moustache and dark hat.

Anyone with information should contact Gang Enforcement Section Detective Bobby Anguino at 562.570.7370.
