1:40pm | Several restoration projects are under way at El Dorado Nature Center (EDNC) as part of the second phase of the EDNC Master Plan. The work includes habitat restoration, trail reinforcement at priority locations, and replacement of the pedestrian bridge that links the island to the trails.
Some trail closures will be in effect during the construction period, which is expected to last through December. Posted signs will direct visitors to open trail segments.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine implemented the first phase of the El Dorado Nature Center Master Plan by restoring the half-mile-long stream and replacing five pedestrian bridges in 2010.
The Nature Center Renewal Phase 2 is being funded by a grant from the California Rivers and Mountains Conservancy under the Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006 (Proposition 84).
