The International Longshoremen and Warehouse Union invites you to attend the memorial services of longshore worker Carlos Rivera at Harbor Christian Center (1552 Wilmington Blvd, Wilmington), today at 10:00am.  Rivera’s burial will follow immediately at Green Hills Memorial Park.

Rivera was killed on the job on April 4, 2008, after more than 40 years on the job.  Read the Press-Telegram article here.

Co-workers have asked that all cranes boom up at 11:45 on Monday, in honor of Rivera.  This was last done in February of 2005, to honor Matt Petrasich – also an experienced employee who was killed while working.  See a video of the cranes in honor of Petrasich below.
