A fire that destroyed a Long Beach single-story restaurant but did not cause any injuries Sunday morning is being investigated by authorities, according to the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD).
An off-duty firefighter saw flames shooting from the roof of Royal Buffet, 530 East 33rd Street, at about 7:00AM, LBFD spokesman Mark Miller said.
The first firefighters to arrive called for more crews, and two subsequent waves of firefighters were called in. Miller said the three-alarm fire was out by about 7:30AM.
No one was inside the restaurant at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation, according to Miller.
