A fire struck the front of a single-family residence in North Long Beach Thursday morning, resulting in significant damage to the house and displacing two individuals, according to the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD).

LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin said firefighters were dispatched at 8:37AM to 1900 Poppy regarding a fire. Upon arrival they discovered a single family dwelling with a fire impacting the front of the house.

Heflin said the fire was extinguished by 8:47AM.

There were no injuries reported. However, two individuals were displaced and are currently living with other family members in the area, according to Heflin. 

Firefighters were investigating the site of the fire this afternoon to determine the cause and origin. The fire remains under investigation.
