I love food and politics. They can both be exciting, make you feel good or leave a bad taste in your mouth. More on politics later. Today, I want to chat with you a little about food.

I would consider eating and trying new restaurants more than hobby…it’s a bit of an obsession. For me, going to dinner (or lunch) is not only about the food but the experience. How was the service? How about the menu offering? I don’t claim to be a food critic nor do I want to be one. Instead, I’m your average guy who can enjoy both a cheeseburger at Hof’s Hut and a fillet mignon at the Sky Room.

We are lucky to live in an international city that provides an exciting and diverse food palette. Whether you live in Downtown, Belmont Heights or Wrigley, you live only 15 minutes away from any restaurant in Long Beach. I don’t cook…which means that I eat out at least twice a day. Sometimes it’s take-out, but usually I go out. That works out to 14 dining experiences a week. So whet your appetite as we explore the best Long Beach has to offer in dining.

As I write this, I am enjoying a Gyro sandwich from George’s Greek Cafe in Downtown Long Beach….it’s delicious and if you have not tried one, you are missing out. So here’s the web link to George’s… talk to you all soon.
