Next Monday, the Youth & Gang Violence Prevention Task Force will hold its final forum of the year, dealing with issues such as gun violence, bullying and abuse.  The forum, entitled “A Promise Kept… For Our Children,” will be held at Burnett Elementary School at 565 E. Hill Street.  It begins at 8:00pm.

The forum will also feature dinner, free childcare, and fun activities for kids and teens.  The purpose is to provide helpful workshops for parents, guardians and caregivers.  Other important topics include creating respectful homes, legal parenting issues and the rights of parents of children with special education needs.

The event will be held with cooperation from the Department of Health & Human Services Weed & Seed Strategy, and the CSULB Department of Social Work.  The PTA Long Beach, Commission on Youth and Children and Community Improvement League are also involved.
