Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster was selected for the Air Quality Management District’s (AQMD) 2007 “Leadership in Government” Award.  The award was presented by AQMD Governing Board Chair Bill Burke in recognition of Mayor Foster’s “unwavering support for energy efficiency and clean air.”  Foster retired as president of Southern California Edison in 2005 and was elected Mayor of Long Beach last year.

The 19th Annual Clean Air Awards were held in the ballroom of the Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles on October 18th.  Vice Mayor Lowenthal and AQMD Board Member and Councilmember Tonia Reyes Uranga were part of a large crowd at the luncheon.

The Leadership in Government Award is one of seven categories presented by AQMD.
