Need to cross a few names off of your holiday shopping list?  Head down to 2nd Street in Belmont Shore this Saturday, where parking will be free all day long.

Local businesses Wireless Providers and Verizon Fios are sponsoring the free day, and bags will be over the meters from 10:00am-7:00pm.

“We were pleased to sponsor free parking on Second Street on Saturday, November 29th and are thrilled to be able to do it again,” said Alan Brawer of Wireless Providers, in a statement.  “I have been in the wireless and home entertainment business for over fifteen years and am happy to give back to the customers who have supported us over the years now during these more difficult times.”

The parking pardon is an attempt to bring more foot traffic to the area during tough economic times.  Operation Jump Start will also be holding their annual Gallery of Trees fundraiser, which will raise money for Long Beach’s youth and also raffle off a decorated Christmas tree along with $150 of merchandise and gift cards from a local business.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come out to the Shore and discover all the fantastic businesses that make up our vibrant business district,” read a statement from Brooke Kennard, Executive Director of the Belmont Shore Business Association.  “The Belmont Shore Business Association appreciates the support of our local business Wireless Providers and Verizon Fios.”
