This Thursday, State Senator Alan Lowenthal and many others will come together to support marriage equality at the Long Beach Marriage Equality Cocktail Fundraiser, held at Smooth’s Sports Grille. The event will begin at 5:30pm, and purchase of a ticket includes appetizers and musical entertainment. Tickets are $25, (available at the Advocate level for $50 and Partner level for $100).
Proceeds will benefit No On Prop 8, an organization dedicated to upholding the ideals of equality, freedom and fairness for all. The effort is aimed at defeating Prop 8, which will deny same-sex couples the right to marry after it was written into the California Constitution over the summer.
