6:00am | The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will soon distribute a $20,000 reward fund to two individuals who provided information to law enforcement that led to the apprehension and conviction of the persons responsible for the murder of Melody Ross. 

The murder of Melody Ross stirred up a local and national response after she was tragically killed on October 30th of 2009 near the 4400 block of East 10th Street. Sporting a Supergirl outfit, she was gunned down along with two other young men by assailants she left Wilson High School’s homecoming football game at approximately 10:00pm that night; she succumbed to her wounds and passed away at 10:30pm at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

As a result of the information provided by these two individuals, the two suspects involved in the murder were arrested. 18-year-old Tom Love Vinson of Bellflower was charged with first degree murder following two days of deliberation by a jury in September of last year; he was given 155 years to life that following December, the maximum sentence for such a charge. The second subject involved, Daivion Davis, was considered an accomplice, charged as a juvenile, and was sentenced to eight years, four months in juvenile custody.
