11:00am | The first-ever State of the First District will be held next week at the Renaissance High School auditorium, where Councilmember Robert Garcia will look to the future, provide a overview of past projects, and present awards to community leaders.

The event is scheduled for 6:00pm on Monday, and attendance is open to the public on a first-come first-served basis. Light refreshments will be available and the event is expected to last about ninety minutes. The auditorium is located at 238 E. 8th Street.

“I look forward to present this report to the community and share with them all the great projects we worked on together,” Garcia said in a press release. “I’m also excited to present awards as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to some very deserving neighbors and city leaders.”

Based on the Mayor’s annual State of the City address, Garcia will look back on his first year in office and preview the plans and projects that are scheduled for the future. Second District Councilmember Suja Lowenthal and Fifth District Councilmember Gerrie Schipske holds similar events each year.
