3:00pm | The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, based in Washington, D.C. announced its endorsement of Brad Shore in his race for a seat on the Long Beach, California City Council representing the city’s 9th District.
 
“We’re proud to endorse Brad Shore, whose tireless commitment to his community will be put to good use on the Long Beach City Council,” said Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Victory Fund.
 
The Victory Fund is the nation’s largest LGBT political action committee, and the only national organization dedicated to increasing the number of openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elected officials at all levels of government. Currently, there are 42 candidates nationwide who have received the Victory fund endorsement. Locally, Mitch Ward, candidate for the 53rd Assembly District and Ricardo Lara, candidate for the 50th Assembly District are among seven endorsed candidates from California.  Since its founding in 1991, the number of openly LGBT elected officials in the U.S. has grown from less than 50 to more than 450.
