10:01am | Having problems in your neighborhood, and you’re not sure how to address them? Then mark your calendars for July 27, when the city is hosting a free “Neighborhood Problem Solving” workshop.
The workshop aims to provide residents with the resources to create safe and healthy neighborhoods and is being hosted by the Neighborhood Resources Center this Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 425 Atlantic Ave.
At the workshop, attendees can expect to learn what they can do to tackle common neighborhood issues including drugs, gangs, noise, trash, graffiti and other “chronic” nuisances, according to information provided by the City Manager’s Office.
A panel of city officials will present information in their area of expertise. The panelists are to include:
- Long Beach City Prosecutor Doug Haubert;
- Lei Ronca, Code Enforcement officer;
- Kym Cloughesy, Police Services specialist; and
- Nelson Kerr, manager of Environmental Health
Free parking will be available on the street and behind the building. Additionally, both Spanish and Khmer translation will be available.
The event is also serving as a food drive for local nonprofit Food Finders; attendees may being canned food items to donate to the organization.
