A Lakewood woman was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of assaulting a man and stabbing a woman when she confronted them at a Long Beach hotel, according to police.

Police said the altercation happened around 10 p.m. on Pacific Avenue near 10th Street.

The two victims were at a hotel there when the female attacker “approached them at their hotel room and physically assaulted them,” LBPD spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

The altercation left the man with minor injuries, and the confrontation moved to the hotel parking lot where the female attacker stabbed the other woman in the lower body, De Prez said.

Paramedics took the wounded woman to the hospital in stable condition, and police arrested the attacker, identified as 40-year-old Ilene Banuelos, De Prez said.

Police said Banuelos knows the man she’s accused of attacking, but not the woman.

She’s now being held on $50,000 bail on suspicion of domestic abuse and assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.

According to a jail booking log, she was arrested at 1059 Pacific Ave., which is the location of the Palms Motel.
