Light drizzle in Long Beach had brought slightly more than a tenth of an inch of rain by early Friday afternoon, but it’s just the beginning.
“Rain will intensify late tonight through the day Saturday,” the local National Weather Service office said.
Showers are expected to continue through at least Saturday night, with forecasters predicting that Long Beach could receive roughly 3 inches of rain by the end of Sunday.
A flood watch will be in effect for all of Long Beach from late tonight through Saturday evening, with thunderstorms possible.
