Students and their families celebrated during Wilson High School’s 94th graduation ceremony Monday evening, including 55 valedictorians who achieved a 4.0 GPA or better.
“This is my first graduation with Wilson because last year was my first year here and we had a drive-thru,” Principal Kim Holland said. “It’s a lot different, really exciting and a lot more energy.”
In all, 836 students graduated from Wilson. This was the first year every student graduated as part of one of the school’s five pathways—arts, leadership and public service, medicine and biotechnology, technology, or WAVE. Each student wore a medallion for their respective pathway.
The class earned $15.4 million in scholarships, 20 pathway awards, 237 presidential awards, 165 distinguished scholar medallions, 34 Advanced Placement with honors awards, 34 Advanced Placement with distinction awards, 84 Advanced Placement scholars awards and 595 Advanced Placement stoles.
“Bruins now and forever,” fall ASB President Dylan Bernstein said while addressing his peers.
