10:45am | Students, faculty, staff, and local Long Beach residents are invited to explore the C-SPAN Campaign 2012 Bus when it stops at Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) as part of its “Road to the White House” tour tomorrow.
Launched in 1988, C-SPAN’s “Road to the White House” is the network’s attempt to engage voters with full coverage of each presidential campaign, from day one to election to the swearing-in ceremony. Practically unparalleled in its coverage, the network opted to make the campaign information it offered even more accessible by creating a technologically progressive touring bus that travels the country. The bus helps voters explore the current facets and aspects of the 2012 presidential election via touchscreens, computers, HD-TVs, and other multimedia outlets.
The bus will be open for visits from 12:30 to 2:30pm at the campus’s east turnaround, across from the campus’s SSPA Building. The bus tour is named after C-SPAN’s signature political program.
“With the presidential campaign heating up, this is a great time for C-SPAN to hit the road with the Campaign 2012 Bus,” said Jennifer Curran, C-SPAN marketing representative. “C-SPAN offers a variety of public affairs programming and resources for educators, students, first-time voters and the general public. We hope they come on board and check out our interactive Campaign 2012 Bus.”
