Long Beach Assistant City Auditor James Johnson announced that he has formed a campaign committee for the 7th District City Council seat.  The election is one of several slated for the April 2010 ballot.

“I look forward to listening to the residents of the 7th District and talking with them about how to change Long Beach for the better,” Johnson said in a prepared release.  “I feel lucky to have lived in such a great community for so long, and I know that by working together we can improve the City for current residents and future generations.”

As the Assistant City Auditor, Johnson is responsible for directing and overseeing all city audits. Prior to that role, James was the Senior Policy Advisor for the Long Beach City Clerk Department.

In February, Long Beach City College Trustee Roberto Uranga announced he filed to run for the 7th District seat which is the office currently held by his wife.
