Judith Light will be honored with a Pink Award this Saturday at the PINK GALA, a benefit for The Center Long Beach. She has been a courageous advocate for People living with HIV/AIDS and began speaking out years ago when actors were hesitant to lend their names. She has appeared at hundreds of events lending her name and voice to the cause.

One of the roles she is known best for is playing Ryan White’s mother in the TV movie The Ryan White Story, helping to share his personal story of living with HIV/AIDS. She has helped to raise awareness and much-needed funding, but beyond this, she has personally has been a caretaker to people with HIV/AIDS.

Currently, she is known for her recurring guest roles on the television hit show Ugly Betty, and her role in the film Save Me, with Chad Allen and Robert Gant.

The Pink Gala takes place on the “Majestic” Yacht where 300 guests will enjoy hosted bars, hors d’oeuvres, a 3-course, full service dinner, celebrity entertainment, a silent auction, awards and dancing, while cruising the harbor. Also being honored this year are LOGO, Wells Fargo, and Mayor Bob Foster.

The hosts for the evening will be actor/comedian Jason Stuart, and actress Jillian Armenante, and actor Alec Mapa, best known for his current role on Ugly Betty.

The program will take place aboard the three decked, 150’ private vessel.  Boarding will take place from 5:30pm to 6:15pm on Saturday, August 16th.
