justin hectusAlthough Justin Hectus works as the director of information at Long Beach law firm Keesal, Young & Logan, perhaps more Long Beachers know him for how he’s helped shape the city’s art scene. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Arts Council for Long Beach for the last decade, Hectus is co-producer of Schooled in Song, a concert event that highlights local musicians and raises money for music education. And then there’s SAM (Summer and Music), the summertime concert series that he and Fingerprints owner Rand Foster co-founded in 2009. Currently, Justin is also focusing on a capital campaign for Farm Lot 59, a biodynamic, organic, urban community farm on one acre of land in Long Beach. How do these disparate endeavors come together for Justin? “It’s really about community, about working together to make Long Beach a better place to be,” he says. “For me that’s largely about music and art. And community service is in the fabric of the firm Keesal, Young & Logan. It’s one of the things that makes me happy to be here.”
