A new tradition rang through the streets of Downtown Long Beach over the weekend, as the inaugural Latin American Parade & Festival was held in front of thousands of spectators who cheered wildly at the pageantry representing several Latin cultures. With one of the most diverse populations in the nation, Long Beach celebrated the vibrant life of its people with the parade and subsequent festival which took place on Linden & 1st Street – including more than six hours worth of musical acts, dozens of vendors and activities and a children’s center for the niños. From this eventful celebration that claimed its place among the city’s other large parades such as the Veterans Day Parade, Pride Parade, Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Cambodian New Year Parade, our photographer Christian Millan (click here to e-mail him) captured these wonderful images. Enjoy!
