Long Beach Cty College President Eloy Oakley and Board of Trustees members cut the ribbon on a modernized version of the Library at the school’s Liberal Arts campus this morning.  More than 450 computers are available for student use and ten new classrooms enhance the learning experience.

A $24 million project, the Library/LRC was funded by Measure E and other state funds.  It also includes six multimedia study rooms and a videoconferencing center.

“This Library/LRC that we dedicate today, will provide access to technology and individualized instruction to students to help them succeed and meet their education and career goals for generations to come,” Oakley said. “We do all this because of a simple belief that where one starts out in life, should not determine or limit where one can go in this life.”

The Library/Learning Resource Center is the fourth new building opened on the LBCC campus this year.
