After an entire year of celebration, Long Beach City College will honor its 80th birthday as anyone would: with good food, good wine and good friends.  No word yet on who will blow out the candles.

The iconic school’s gala will be held this Saturday the 7th in the LBCC gymnasium at 6:00pm.  Tickets are available for $80 and will include dinner, live music by the LBCC Faculty All-Star Band, a silent auction, special alumni recognitions and community guests.  Among the distinguished guests will be former Mayor Beverly O’Neill, LBCC President Eloy Ortiz Oakley, Trustee President Jeff Kellogg and Trustee Doug Otto.

“The entire Long Beach City College family is looking forward to celebrating 80 years of student success at the Anniversary Gala,” said LBCC President Eloy Ortiz Oakley.  “The event is a great way to recognize the donors, staff and community members that have made our Gateway to Greatness campaign success.”
