12:23pm | President Eloy Ortiz Oakley will kick-off 2012 at the Fifth Annual State of the College Address and Luncheon this Friday, January 6, at LBCC’s Hall of Champions at 11:30am. In addition to President Oakley’s presentation, the second annual “Student Success” Awards will be presented to well-deserved faculty and staff members.

The Hall of Champions is located on Faculty Avenue on the Liberal Arts Campus, just west of the New South Quad Building between Carson and Lew Davis Drive.

“Long Beach City College is focused on student success and creating pathways for our students to transfer and meet their academic goals.” said LBCC President Eloy Ortiz Oakley. “The State of the College is a great opportunity to share with the community our incredible progress as well as our challenges.”

President Oakley will be discussing the state budget and impacts to local community colleges, the Long Beach College Promise, the Promise Pathways initiative, and an update on campus construction.

The State of the College will be available on a live stream on the College’s website starting at 11:30 am on Friday.
