Long Beach City College tomorrow will host two “Community Conversations” that are open to the public, that aim to spark discussion about how Latino education can be improved. Joining LBCC President Eloy Oakley will be Juan Sepulveda, Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. In short, what should the White House Initiative be doing to foster Latino education?
Two sessions – both open to the public – will be held tomorrow, the first running from 9:30am-10:30am and the second running from 10:45am-11:45am. They will be held in the large meeting room in Building O South at 4900 Conant Street.
The public will be encouraged to contribute questions and ideas, which will be considered in the development of a new presidential executive order that will be used to govern the White House Initiative. The organization is holding similar meetings across the country to address the issue and garner public feedback.
Organizers ask that you select one of the two sessions to attend, and RSVP to Mark Taylor at [email protected] or 562.938.4205. Space is expected to be scarce. Contact Glorimar M. Nosal of the White House Initiative at [email protected] or 202.401.0078 for more information.
