Long Beach City College students, faculty, support staff, and community members will gather for a second procession and “funeral for the death of education” at the college’s Pacfific Coast Campus, 1305 E. Pacific Coast Highway, at 11:00am this Wednesday.

Protesting the devastating losses to education, particularly at the 85-year-old community college, the group will present eulogies, music, a memorial procession, a graveyard of tombstone listing the nearly 150 cutss or reductions in staff positions, an obituary, a casket, and other symbols of death — basically mimicing entirely the first “funeral” which happened last week.

The event is planned to start at the horticulture garden on the east side of campus near May Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway and the funeral will be in front of the MM Building in the center of campus. Details may be found at http://www.longbeachcca.org
