Two structure fires—one in an apartment and the other in a garage—were extinguished by the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) last week.

The first fire occured this past Friday around 7:30PM, in a garage at 4413 Bellflower Boulevard. The four-stall garage, detached from the apartment structure, sustained moderate damage and no injuries were reported.

On Saturday, February 15, LBFD responded to an apartment fire at around 6:20PM. The apartment, located at Bonito and 1st in Alamitos Beach, sat on the second floor of a three-story building. The single occupant was transported to a local hospital for minor extremity burns; the victim is in stable condition.

While both fires were contained, their causes are still being investigated.
