9:31am | On Thursday, September 1, 2011, the Long Beach Police Department’s Vice Detail and West Division Directed Enforcement officers conducted an undercover operation targeting prostitution in the area of west Long Beach. The operation resulted in nine males being arrested, eight for solicitation of prostitution and one for a warrant.
Operations of this type have been due in large part to community concerns regarding quality of life issues in the area. Long Beach Police will continue to conduct unannounced anti-prostitution operations throughout the city in an effort to end this nuisance activity and the negative effects it has on the community.
The Long Beach Police Department would like to remind those inclined to patronize prostitutes that they run the risk of being arrested should they engage in this activity in Long Beach.
