Long Beach Police Department officers are investigating a string of overnight shootings that left one person hospitalized after being shot near Deforest Park, police said Monday.

Police said they contacted a man at a local hospital at approximately 3:05 a.m. who said he had been shot while walking near the area of 56th Street and Long Beach Boulevard about an hour earlier. The man said he felt pain in his upper body before realizing he had been shot and transported himself to the hospital, according to police.

Officers were not able to find any evidence of a shooting and and have no suspect information or motive for the shooting, according to the department.

Police said another shooting near a shopping center located at the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and Carson Street happened around 12:38 a.m. when a woman said she got into an argument with a male driver who fired a weapon before fleeing the scene. No one was hurt in the shooting and officers found shell casings confirming a shooting happened, the department said.

Earlier Sunday night, a shooting outside of a business near the 2300 block of Santa Fe Avenue also resulted in no one being injured. Police said Monday that a man said an altercation inside the business with another man escalated to him being pistol-whipped before the man fired his weapon outside of the business.

Police said evidence of a shooting was recovered by officers who responded to the call. All three shootings are still under investigation, according to the department.
