3:35pm | On Friday, October 14, at approximately 11:24pm, officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to an injury hit-and-run traffic collision in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Loma Avenue that left one female pedestrian in critical condition and a second with injuries.
 
When officers arrived on the scene they found the victims lying in the street. The preliminary investigation revealed that both pedestrians were crossing PCH from the south side of the street to the north side when they were struck by a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota or Lexus with tinted windows which was traveling eastbound on PCH at a high rate of speed. According to witnesses, the vehicle did not stop or slow down after the collision, and was last seen traveling eastbound on PCH.
 
Paramedics responded to the scene and the two victims, both Long Beach residents, were transported to a local hospital. One victim, a 40-year-old female, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the other, a 37–year-old female, was listed in critical condition. Her condition has improved since the incident, but she may suffer permanent injury.
 
During the ongoing investigation, detectives followed up on numerous witness statements and workable leads. They are now hoping to locate anyone else who may have witnessed this incident or who may have additional information that may lead them to the suspect. The vehicle most likely sustained front-end body damage from the collision specifically to the right headlight area. Anyone aware of a vehicle matching the suspect’s with this damage or one that may have had recent bodywork should share that information with investigators.
