Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) Chief Robert Luna and newly-appointed West Division Commander Robert Smith will discuss crime with Long Beach residents next week.

The event, taking place at vegan/Thai restaurant I Love Vegan in the Wrigley neighborhood on Thursday, will have Luna and Smith discuss crime in Long Beach and the police department’s plans to address issues of concern to the community, according to a statement from the Long Beach Central Project Area Council Inc. (LBCPAC), which is hosting the event.

“This is a great opportunity to keep abreast of projects and programs happening in the LB CPAC area,” the statement reads. “Dialogue involving the community and the speakers is encouraged and expected. LB CPAC looks forward to seeing a large turnout. In addition to the main topics, there will be opportunities for members of the community to briefly address the group about other concerns and issues.”

All residents of Long Beach are invited to attend the meeting, which begins at 6:00PM at I Love Vegan, located at 2264 Pacific Avenue. The restaurant opens at 5:00PM and the LBCPAC recommends attendees get there early to enjoy dinner and ensure seating.
