This Saturday, September 13, Paradise Restaurant will host a fundraising event for AIDS Food Store Long Beach, called A Day in Paradise 7. This will be the 7th time Paradise Restaurant and the AIDS food store have teamed up in support of serving those affected and infected with HIV/AIDS.
Attendees can enjoy a breakfast, lunch or dinner or—knowing that 20 percent of their food tab will be donated directly to the AIDS Food Store—breakfast, lunch and dinner. Donations will be used to provide healthy meals to those affected by the virus, for those who may not be able to afford the freshest or most nutritious food due to financial hardship caused by the demands of living with HIV/AIDS.
Diners at Paradise Restaurant, while enjoying the musical stylings of Long Beach singer/songwriter Kristi Jo, can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a four day Palm Springs getaway, a year of free DirecTV, tickets to the Long Beach Playhouse, tickets to an upcoming production by Musical Theater West, a gift card to Lazy Dog Restaurant and more. All proceeds will benefit the AIDS Food Store, which will also be debuting its brand new logo on Saturday.
“Our organization is working hard to provide our clients with fresh fruits and vegetables along with eggs and dairy products. Funds raised from this event will allow us to continue to provide these healthy food options,” AIDS Food Store President John Newell said in a statement.
Kristi Jo will be performing her soulful acoustic repertoire in the evening as attendees relax and enjoy a meal and a drink (or two), all while supporting a good cause. After the meal, indie-film fans are encouraged to head over to the QFilms Fest 2014 to catch one of the inspiring flicks being shown that evening. If film isn’t your thing, or if you’re feeling especially adventurous, head over to the Mineshaft to see the winner of Mr. Leather Long Beach crowned.
Reservations are required for the dinner session at Paradise, available from 5:00PM to midnight, while breakfast and lunch is open seating and will be served from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
