LocalHeroes

Union Bank has, since 1995, enacted its Local Heroes programs throughout various months of the year to reflect specific communities such as the African-American, disabled, and women’s community. In 2011, the LGBT community was added to that list in an effort to honor local community members for their contributions and work to better the lives of fellow LGBTers.

Pairing with KCETLink, the bank is now seeking nominations for this year’s LGBT heroes throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County area. Once nominations are received, two will be selected and honored with video profiles that will air on KCET’s LGBT Pride Month programming scheduled for June, along with a subsequent celebration in October.

LocalHeroesAccording to the press release, they are searching for “LGBT community members in the Los Angeles area who have shown leadership and dedication to serving their community through participation in the arts, business, community activism, education, social services, health services or other relevant fields.”

Nominations will be accepted until midnight on Tuesday, April 9. To nominate someone, click here.
