St. Mary Medical Center and the C.A.R.E. Program will participate in the 2012 Long Beach Pride Festival. They invite C.A.R.E. friends to participate in the following events:
Thursday, May 17
- C.A.R.E. is one of the beneficiaries of the District Pride Fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Bliss 25 restaurant and club at the corner of Atlantic and Broadway. Saturday, May 19 and Sunday May 20
- Rachel Plotkin, St. Mary Community Outreach Coordinator, has organized screenings and informational booths to promote St. Mary’s health services. This will take place at the festival’s health promenade.
Saturday, May 19, 8:30am: 5K/10K Run
- Dr. Manuel Pardo will captain the St. Mary/C.A.R.E. Program Team in the Shoreline Frontrunner’s annual 5K/10K Pride Run. Shoreline Frontrunners donate half of the proceeds to the C.A.R.E. Program. Sunday, May 20, 10:30am: Parade
- C.A.R.E. staff will walk the 1.5 mile parade route with Cheer LA, which is a volunteer organization that performs along the parade route to promote awareness, spirit, and diversity in the gay community through dynamic cheer, dance, and stunt performances. Donations collected along the route benefit the C.A.R.E. Program.
