Dr. Elisa Nicholas, chief executive officer of TCC Family Health clinic, spoke with the Long Beach Post about COVID-19’s disproportionate impact on minority groups, and other health factors that put people at risk for coronavirus.

Nicholas said the average age of patients has changed since the pandemic started, with the new common age for someone infected being in their mid-40s. She fears as younger people go into more public spaces, they will bring the virus to older, more vulnerable family members.

As of Thursday, Long Beach reported 5,172 total positive cases and 141 deaths.
