2:00pm | Seventeen-year old Yoshino Rosalia Jasso has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss California Pageant. She will be participating in the Teenage division, and will be modeling a “first ever” gown designed by her that includes an over-skirt created with plastic bags.

Miss Yoshino Rosalia Jasso is the Resident Artist of The Long Beach Depot For Creative ReUse and serves as the primary Instructor of the Creative Reuse Workshops.  She received her High School Proficiency Diploma at age 16 and is majoring in Business at Long Beach City College.

Her sponsors include Al’s Fingerprinting, Sergio Arnold-Realtor, M. Hara Lawnmower Center, Jasso Painting Service, Mike Copani-United Airlines, Taqueria Ramiro & Sons, Mr. T’s, The Long Beach Depot For Creative ReUse and Friends of Yoshino Rosalia.

If she wins, Miss Rosalia would receive a $1000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills.  Each year the pageant nationally awards 1.5 million dollars in cash, scholarships and other prizes, which includes a New Ford Mustang Convertible.
