12:45am | A Long Beach-based water technology firm has combined with European water technology firm to form a new venture, it was announced on Wednesday.
The combination of APTwater Inc. and Rochem AG unites two of the industry’s most advanced water technology companies βto deliver reliable, clean water from some of the most challenging resources in the industry,β according to a statement released by the firms.
Long Beach-based APTwater develops and deploys technology to destroy contaminants such as pharmaceutical by-products, trace organics, nitrates and hexavalent chromium. APTwater systems are often used to clean water from damaged groundwater, surface water and wastewater treatment plants.
European firm Rochem deploys membrane modules into integrated treatment systems to clean water. The membranes deployed by Rochem are made by Sepro Membranes Inc., a joint venture between Rochem AG and Sojitz Corporation of Japan. Sepro, also part of the merger, develops and manufactures membranes in Oceanside.
Rochem systems and Sepro membranes can be found treating water on ships, landfills, chemical plants and wastewater facilities.
“Our new company brings together an exciting combination of proven solutions, innovations ready for market, and ideas under development,” David Stanton, CEO of the new enterprise, said in a statement. “And with more of our clients looking to save capital by deploying our solutions through water-by-the-gallon contracts, we now can offer the full service solutions in Europe and North America.”
