A Long Beach man was identified yesterday as the victim found dead in an SUV that was apparently set on fire in Rancho Palos Verdes Tuesday.

Officials said that the body of Christopher Waters, a 42-year-old Long Beach resident, was found in the vehicle, which was parked at 30100 Miraleste Drive–an empty lot according to Google Maps. After the fire was doused at around 2:30PM Tuesday, Los Angeles Sheriff Department homocide detectives were sent to the location and an investifation has been launched to determine the circumstances around the incident.

The cause of his death has yet to be determined.
