During a short memorial ceremony remembering the events of September 11 eight years ago, Mayor Bob Foster said a few short remarks to a crowd of Long Beach firefighters and police officers, joined by a crowd of civilians who had come to pay their respects to those in service. Mayor Foster thanked those in attendance and asked for a short moment of silence. A bugler played “Taps” and bagpipes rang through the City Hall campus, alongside a wreath of flowers near the police and fire memorial statue. Here are our images from this morning’s ceremony.
